mepass โ a password manager that cannot read your passwords
mepass stores your logins, Wi-Fi passwords, secure notes and other private records in an encrypted vault. Everything is encrypted on your own device with a key derived from your Master Password; our servers only ever hold data they cannot decrypt.
What mepass does
- Keeps your passwords and private notes in an end-to-end encrypted vault, available in the web app at vault.mepass.io.vn.
- Syncs the encrypted vault between your devices and lets you share selected vaults with family members.
- Lets you recover your account if you forget your Master Password, without giving us the ability to open your vault.
Why mepass asks for Google Drive access
mepass offers an optional backup of your already-encrypted vault to your own Google Drive, so you still have a copy even if our server is unavailable. For this we request only the Google Drive scope drive.file, which lets mepass see and manage only the files that mepass itself creates. mepass cannot see any other file in your Drive.
The backup files are stored in a folder named mepass in your Drive. They are encrypted before they leave your device, and they are sent directly from your browser to Google โ they are never sent to mepass servers. You can turn this off at any time. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Security in brief
- Your Master Password and Secret Key never leave your device.
- Vault contents are encrypted on your device before being stored or synced.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
